Associate Member: Alexandre de Barros , Assistant Professor, University of Calgary
Alex de Barros is an Assistant Professor in Transportation Engineering at the University of Calgary. He is the former Director of Airport Infrastructure at the National Civil Aviation Agency in Brazil and has several years of experience both in the academia and in the industry, where he worked as a consultant in airport planning and design. His main research interests are: airport airside and passenger simulation; the impact of advanced passenger processing technologies; airport design and operations; airport safety and security; design of airports for the new large aircraft.
Student Members: Audrey Wilson & Ruby Khan of Georgian College - Ruby Khan writes; All praise and thanks to God for giving me the opportunity to write a few lines about myself. I was born in Pakistan but was raised in Djibouti, East Africa where my father was an airline pilot flying for Air Djibouti. He's flown for the past 25 years in Airline, Cargo and General Aviation companies. I was inspired by my father's Aviation career and always had the passion of being a part of this prestigious industry of wings.We migrated to Canada in '98. I completed my studies in Business Admin (Honors) from Toronto School of Business and currently I'm enrolled with Georgian College Aviation institute in Barrie, Ontario aiming for an Aviation Management Degree in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I've been always fond of airplanes and cars and have previously worked with Ford Motor Company of Canada at the headquarters at Oakville, as a Lease Coordinator as well. My hobbies include reading Quran, aviation books, flying and travelling all over the world. My role models are my parents who are my gift from God and have been supportive in every step of my life and my siblings who've always been there for me.
