A Pan Am 727 flight, waiting for start clearance in Munich, overheard the following:
Lufthansa (in German): "Ground, what is our start clearance time?"
Ground (in English): "If you want an answer you must speak in English."
Lufthansa (in English): "I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany.  Why must I speak English?"
Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): "Because you lost the bloody war!"

Ahmed Salman Malik, Construction Manager, Engineering Projects Department, Dubai International Airport
Patrick Prades, General Manager, Consulting Services, GTAA
Craig Skonberg, Executive Director / Airport Manager, St. Andrews Airport Inc. Craig was a ships navigator in the Navy – until he discovered that there were no longer ships in the Canadian Navy in the 80’s. He spent eight years with the Canadian National Railway and another eight in the chemical industry with L’Air Liquide. During this time he received a B.A. Honours in Geography and Statistics as well as a B.Comm.Honours in Operations & Production Management. He came to aviation by way of a head hunter who was looking for an operations manager who had no romance for the aircraft. That has since changed.
Craig’s aviation background includes cargo with Air Canada, an agent with First Air, and General Manager of Keewatin Air, Critical Care International and Kivalliq Air. He lived in Rankin Inlet for 6 ½ years – marshalling and deicing NWT Air, Canadian North, First Air and Calm Air, providing ground support for the NASA Boreaus Project out of Thompson Manitoba, dispatching medevacs, charters and scheds and performing all the other duties necessary to keep the airlines running in the North. He has been the Executive Director / Airport Manager of CYAV since April 2001.
Craig is currentlyVice President of the Manitoba Aviation Council and has previous participation with the Northern Air Transport Association and the Airline Consultative Committees to the GNWT and Nunavut.
Raymond Springer, Manager, Consulting Services, GTAA
RJ Steenstra, CEO,  Red Deer Airport Authority
Adrian Wijeyewickrema, Manager Air Traffic Allocation & Forecasting, GTAA

Alvin Nason, Acting Director of Operations, Fredericton International Airport Authority. Alvin is the Acting Director of Operations for the Fredericton International Airport Authority. With over 25 years experience in the heavy equipment industry, Alvin spent 21 years with the Fredericton International Airport in the following positions ; Airfield Maintenance Specialist , ARFF Firefighter ,and  Airport Operations Supervisor. Prior to joining the Fredericton International Airport Authority Alvin worked in a family run business where he was introduced to working with heavy equipment at a young age. Alvin has a great Interest in Aviation as well as Antique Automobiles, Auto Racing, and a variety of sports. Alvin is a life long resident of Fredericton N.B. where he continues to serve and support his community

Lyla Barrett, Manager, Consulting Services, Department of Strategic Planning & Airport Development, GTAA. I’ve been working for GTAA after graduating from the University of Toronto eight years ago with an M.A. in Linguistics. I was initially hired to be an Information Developer, writing Plans of Operations and developing training and trials materials for the Terminal 1 Activation Project. I’ve since worked in the Operations Control Centre and for the last three years I have been a Manager in our Consulting Services department. As part of my role I am a consultant in Airport Operational Readiness, and have had the opportunity to work with other Airport Authorities who are activating new facilities. Most recently, I spent most of 2010 in Ireland, consulting with the Dublin Airports Authority on the activation of Terminal 2. Aviation has always been something I’ve enjoyed as a hobby. I never thought it would become a career but I’m glad it did. I am lucky to have a job that allows me to both indulge my inner aviation-geekiness and also satisfy my travel bug! I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Associate Members:
Harry Peckham, Chief of Staff, Federal Security Agency

Student Members:
Ahmed Kamel Hassan, Georgian College

Daniel Collins-Galts, Georgian College
I have always had an interest in aviation since I was a kid. Through high school I worked my way through the Canadian Air Cadet Program earning my glider pilot license and private pilot license. I have since switched my goals from pilot towards the business and management side of aviation. As a student in Georgian College I enjoy learning about issues and trends in the aviation industry, or spedning my time as a member of the school's aviation student organization. I hope to make my way into an airside operations position after graduation, and like the prospect of developing work experience through three seperate co-op terms.

Also, in March, the following Corporate Members renewed their commitment to you and this Association:
