Greetings,
We're pleased to announce that our 2012 Training Calendar is already underway. Our first course of 2012 will be the TP312 - Aerodrome Standards & Recommended Practices, being held at the GTAA's Training Room, from Jan 16-18, 2012. With many successful presentations since 2007 the course this year will again be delivered by John Smyth who, after retiring in March 2007 as General Manager, Airside Operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport created this much needed program. As always, space is limited, so don't miss out, register soon!

The A.A.E. Advantage

Being an Accredited Airport Executive is very important to me. It demonstrates to others that through the A.A.E. designation, I am committed to this industry. I have put significant effort to demonstrate my commitment to this industry through completion of the Accreditation process. It also identifies to me those others that have also made that commitment. It connects me with my peers through the exchange of information that comes with being an Accredited Member. It allows me to make connections with others in the industry that I rely upon for information and support. This is a unique industry and there is much value in learning through association, “best practices”. Being Accredited enables me to connect with those outside Canada through the A.A.A.E. and I.A.A.E. But it is not just about the designation. It is as well about participation in the I.A.A.E. organization. Over the years my involvement with I.A.A.E. Canada has helped me to connect with those outside of my base airport which in turn has helped open up career opportunities through the contacts I have made.
Bernie Humphries A.A.E. VP, Operations Calgary Airport Authority
