Tower: 95 Delta, What do you mean by 675? 95D: I mean I think I read "Elevation 675 feet" on the tower as I taxied by for takeoff, but I am too far away to read it now. Association Update
IAAE Canada congratulates our newest Certified Member, Luis Demestre C.M., Coordinator, Baggage Systems, GTAA.
Please join us in welcoming the following Affiliate Members that joined the Association in September:
James Rice, Airport Manager, City of Vernon
Ian Adkins, Airport Assistant, City of Vernon
Len O'Connor, Airport Manager, Niagara District Airport. Len has extensive years of airfield operations and managerial working experiences throughout Canada and regions of Africa. Most recently Len has worked as a base Manager for a large Aviation company that provided air support for the United Nations in Darfur, Sudan. Previous to his experience in Africa he has also held a managerial position of the Airfield at the GTAA in Toronto, Ontario. In these positions, he has finessed his skills in safety and security within the Airport/Aviation field. He also enjoys team building and as a team he thrives on building effective airport operations. Len, along with the Niagara Airport Commission and airport staff, is looking forward to the new challenge of building the Niagara District Airport into a vibrant establishment within the prestigious Niagara community.
Lyle Soetaert, Airport Manager, Boundary Bay Airport, managed by Alpha Aviation Inc. Lyle has worked in the aviation industry for two decades both in military and commercial roles. Previous employers include Harbour Air, West Coast Air, British Aerospace (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and the Canadian Air Force. He has held various roles including Operations Manager, Corporate and Aviation Safety Manager, and Training Director amongst others. Lyle lives in Victoria, BC and flies his Cessna 150 for his daily commute!

Sarah George, Student, Georgian College.
Hassan Khan, Student, Georgian College. Hassan is pleased to become a part of IAAE Canada as a student member. His background in the industry initiated with flight training for his PPL at Brampton Flight Center. After much feedback and advice from highly experienced and helpful individuals, he was guided to obtain a formal education, which directed him towards the Georgian College – Aviation Management Co-op program. He has recently graduated and is now on his last co-op term (GTAA). He had the opportunity to work for truly reputable firms (LPS Avia, Transport Canada, and GTAA) which taught him everything he knows about airports and aviation in general. He also plans on pursuing his masters from Griffith University in Aviation Management upon completion of his last co-op term. He hopes to bump into you at some point in his career.
