New Southport CEO excited about new position

Posted By Angela Brown, The Daily Graphic

Southport Aerospace Centre Inc. has announced it will have a new chief executive officer.

Steven Maybury will take over the top posting at Southport on April 6, filling the position left vacant by outgoing CEO Barry Feller.

Maybury has much experience in the aerospace industry. He is currently the director of planning and programs for the Charlottetown Airport Authority in P.E.I. Prior to that, he worked as business manager and manager of budgets as well as resources, facilities and development for the Toronto Airport Authority.

"I certainly see it as big on a personal level," said Maybury on the move to Southport. "In terms of the job itself, there is a lot aligned in what I do professionally in P.E.I with what I will be doing at Southport."

Maybury's professional experience in specializing in commercial development and land use will benefit him in his new role as CEO at Southport.

"It is highly aligned with what Southport's mission is," he said.
