Dear IAAE Canada,
In my 20 plus years with Transport Canada, the TP 312 Aerodrome Standards & Recommended Practices course I attended last week was, by far, one of the most informative and invaluable courses I have ever attended in my career. The hands on exercises along with a very knowledgeable course instructor helped resolve issues in the interpretations and cross referencing sections of TP 312, which, at times, can be a very difficult task to undertake.
I am very glad I was able to attend this course and would highly recommend it to anyone involved in airside operations, especially those responsible for maintaining airport standards and insuring compliance.

‘As a student in the Aviation Management program at Georgian College, I use the Member’s Forum to connect with Industry Professionals, receive timely job notifications through Job Postings and stay informed of the current aviation news and concerns across Canada via the E-Report. These have been an important tool to guide me through my current training and have given me some insight for the direction that I wish to pursue in my aviation career in airport operations. The value to IAAE Canada’s members is tremendous; IAAE Canada is a key factor to gaining industry knowledge through training and staying connected in the vital network of airports by attending their annual Facility, Operations and Airport Managers conference and communicating through the web Forum.Upon graduating this year I will continue my membership with IAAE Canada and plan to attend their trainings in the future.’
Being an Accredited Airport Executive is very important to me. It demonstrates to others that through the A.A.E. designation, I am committed to this industry. I have put significant effort to demonstrate my commitment to this industry through completion of the Accreditation process. It also identifies to me those others that have also made that commitment. It connects me with my peers through the exchange of information that comes with being an Accredited Member. It allows me to make connections with others in the industry that I rely upon for information and support. This is a unique industry and there is much value in learning through association, “best practices”.
Being Accredited enables me to connect with those outside Canada through the A.A.A.E. and I.A.A.E. But it is not just about the designation. It is as well about participation in the I.A.A.E. organization. Over the years my involvement with I.A.A.E. Canada has helped me to connect with those outside of my base airport which in turn has helped open up career opportunities through the contacts I have made.
