Founded in 1973, J.A. Larue Inc. Larue began its activities in the construction and snow removal industries. The company expanded to include forestry development as a general contractor including forestry road construction and lumber transportation.

The direction of the company changed in the mid-1980s towards heavy equipment and municipal equipment repairs, more specifically, industrial snow blowers. Having specialized in the repair of several brands of snow blower during the 80s and 90s, the company directed its energy towards rebuilding these machines to improve operator safety, comfort and equipment reliability. Applying modern engineering practices and using mainstream industrial components resulted in better ergonomics to ensure that the machines were the easiest to service in the industry. By leveraging modern engineering practices and utilizing mainstream industrial components, the company was able to improve the machines' ergonomics and make them the easiest to service in the industry.

In 1999, after years of refurbishing snow blowers for numerous customers across North America, this led us to the obvious
progression of designing and building our own snow blowers. In that same year, the company diversified its activities acquiring Dorval Equipment’s in Montreal, a company that specialized in the distribution and repair of LeeBoy and Rosco asphalt maintenance equipment for the province of Quebec and Atlantic Canada. In 2008, J.A. Larue acquired the distributorship for the industry leading Dynapac asphalt and road building products for the Province of Quebec. This successive growth created the perfect opportunity for J.A. Larue to expand its presence with our primary snow blower product line in the Ontario market and Western Canada. J.A. Larue’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Quebec City. It also has sales, parts & service facilities in Boucherville, QC, Quebec City, QC and Moncton, NB.

With more than 20 dealers located in 12 countries worldwide, 16 snow blower models, 3 airport brooms and 3 plows, J.A. Larue has become an industry leading manufacturer of industrial, municipal and airport-type snow removal equipment.
The company counts close to 100 employees in five departments: Engineering, Production, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, and Administration.
