The Lighter Side of Aviation

ACA1147: "Moncton, Air Canada 1147, can you get the winds from 167 above us?"
CZQM: "As soon as I get a chance, I will." (some time passes with continuous radio chatter)
ACA1147: "Moncton, 1147, what are his winds up there?"
CZQM: "Standby for that, please" (more radio chatter)
ACA1147: "Moncton, can you ask company 167 for his winds?"
CZQM: "Ok, 1147 and 167, I have a little too much to do for that sort of thing right now. I'll leave it up to you guys to go over to company frequency and pass winds."

Courtney Brown, Student - Aviation Management, Georgian College. Courtney is a second year Aviation Management student at Georgian College in Barrie, ON. Since she was 8 years old, Courtney has had a passion for aviation after her first flight with girl guides. After that, she joined the Air Cadet program in 2006. Within the 6 years of being a part of the Air Cadet program, Courtney took summer courses such as Basic Aviation, and Introduction to Leadership. She has had the opportunity to teach Basic, and Advanced Aviation to cadets in the following years, and took many years of ground school sessions. Once Courtney finishes her schooling at Georgian, she plans to take another year or two to further her education in aviation, as well as maintain a higher degree to go through ROTP in hopes of becoming an Aerospace Controller for the Canadian Air Force. She has had this career choice set out from the age of 13, and has not strayed from it. She is determined in this goal and positive she will achieve it. Away from aviation, Courtney enjoys to sketch, play volleyball, and watch movies.

Rosa Choi, Student - Aviation Management, Georgian College. Rosa is currently studying Aviation Management at Georgian College in Barrie, ON. She was enrolled in Air Cadets for a year and in 2012, she took part int the Aeronca Project which is offered through Air Cadets by the Aeronca Aircraft Project Committee to learn the skills of Aviation technology and maintenance. In addition, Rosa completed her high school co-op at Crosswind Aviation, a flight school located in London, ON. Ever since joining the Air Cadets, her interest for aviation and love of being around aircrafts grew. Rosa will certainly continue to pursue a future career in the aviation sector.
