Association Update

FOAM16 Summary
FOAM 2016 has come to a conclusion and based on the conversations coming out of it – it was a success.
The first ever FOAM conference held in the province of Quebec achieved its main objective: highlight to Quebec airports the value of IAAEC offerings.
Attendees were treated to a wide range of pertinent topics and a little bit of technological improv- in order to get the C-Series presentation by Sebastian Mullot of Bombardier off the ground.  With Mullot grounded in Montreal we managed to combine Skype and IPhones to deliver slides and commentary to all in Quebec City.
Although total attendance numbers were down – it is always hard to repeat results after a record-setting 2015; attendees were
Sponsor and vendor support was strong with several attending for the first time; and the calibre of speakers matched the high standard one comes to expect from FOAM.
A big thank you to the 14 sponsors and 13 vendors who joined us in Quebec; your continued support is a big reason why we can deliver a top-notch conference.
Our host airport, Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport played a major role; starting with Gaëtan Gagne’s keynote; 3 presentations and ending with an airport tour.  Special thanks to the YQB team for all their help with event and speaker coordination and onsite logistics.
For the first time IAAEC will be making a donations to a local charity on behalf of all our speakers. This year it was L’institut universitaire en santé mentale de Quebec – a mental health foundation supported by Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport.
Overall, a very good conference…work is underway to deliver a similar experience at FOAM 2017 in Calgary.

The Board of Directors and Staff at IAAE Canada extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Chair, Cuyler Green A.A.E. Cuyler served on our board from 2003 to 2016 and acted as Chair from 2012 to 2016 and after 18 years of service to the Board of IAAE Canada, Jeff Huntus A.A.E. also stepped down this year. We wish you both the best of luck in all of your furture endeavours.

We are pleased to announce that Paul Ritchi A.A.E., who has served on our Board since 2005 has been elected as Chair. Trent Gervais has become the newest member to our Board of Directors this year.  We look forward to all that Paul and Trent will bring to IAAE Canada.
