Course Description:

As required by Transport Canada, airport staff involved in wildlife control at an airport must receive training at least every five years. This virtual course is designed for individuals in an airport field role whose duties are related to the airport wildlife management plan. This course meets Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) requirements and provides participants with a certificate and documentation of training. This course utilizes classroom lecture style teaching, group work, discussions and individual exercises.

Course Topics:
♦ Regulations, standards and guidance material related to airport wildlife management programs ♦ Bird ecology, biology and identification ♦ Wildlife management planning ♦ Passive and active wildlife control measures ♦ Development of awareness programs ♦ Rare and endangered species and species of
special concern

Resources:
It is strongly recommended by the Instructor that participants have the book 'Birds of North America: A Guide To Field Identification' for reference during the course as well as for maintenance at their Airport.

The book can be purchased online at both Amazon and Indigo.
