Virtual SMS & HF Training -June 26-27, 2023 - NM
This course is designed for personnel working at certified Canadian airports with responsibilities on airside and meets the requirements of CAR 302.07(1)(g). It provides an overview of the history and regulatory requirements for Safety Management Systems (SMS) and how they impact the worker's role and responsibilities in addition to an understanding of human and organizational factors and how they contribute to accidents and incidents, and how they can be managed and prevented in practical terms that are specifically tailored to airport workers. Upon completion of this course, you will have a basic understanding of Safety Management Systems, why they are required and how you can help your airport remain in compliance with regulatory obligations. You will also be familiarized with human factors, the role they play in incidents and accidents which may occur at airports and practical ways in which you can prevent them from negatively affecting you and your airport through your daily work.
