Michael Lucking is the owner of Leading Edge Airport Solutions, an aviation consulting firm focused on helping Canadian airports achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. Michael has substantial experience in the regulatory sector, including 10 years of experience working for the regulator, Transport Canada, in multiple roles including as a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector - Aerodromes & Air Navigation and Technical Team Lead – Civil Aviation Safety Operations – Specialties. Michael is well versed in the areas of regulatory compliance pertaining to airports, aerodromes and heliports. He has subject matter expertise associated with verifying compliance with regulatory requirements including TP312 Certification standards, Safety Management Systems (SMS), Wildlife Management and Emergency Response.

Course Description:

This course is delivered via instructor led virtual presentations and interactive discussions. Participants will receive a high-level introduction to TP312 5th Edition that will help them to navigate the standard and find the information they need to achieve and maintain compliance.

Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding of how the standards apply to their airport and will recognize how 5th Edition is different from its predecessors. They will come away with a stronger sense of how to navigate the document and find the information needed to support day-to-day operations.

Day 2: Obstacle Management, Visual Aids
• Wind Direction Indicator
• Markings
Day 3: Visual Aids
• Lighting
Day 4: Visual Aids
• Signs, Markers
Day 5: Marking and Lighting of Objects, Lighting System Design and Operations, Maintenance

Pre-requisites:
Each participant must:

• Is encouraged to bring an airside issue, particular to their airport, which requires resolution. A selection of these issues will be incorporated into group exercises.
