Emergency Management Training

Municipalities, industries, institutions and commercial operations must all be prepared to manage the risks and consequences of a large scale emergency. Managing the impact of emergencies on lives and property is the responsibility of all organizations. Learn the basics of Emergency Management. This three-day course includes the following topics:

  • Working in an Emergency Operations Centre

  • Interacting with Emergency Services

  • Understanding the Incident Management System

  • Positive Risk Management and Business Continuity

  • Crisis Communications Skills

  • Documentation and Scribe Notes

  • 3 Simulated Exercises where participants will experience different roles

 

Objectives

  • Understand the role of the On-Scene Controller

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Airport Emergency Control Centre (AECC)

  • Learn how to conduct proper scene size up and about situational awareness

  • Learn how to develop strategies and tactics and the use of Incident Action Plans

  • Understand the appropriate regulations relating to aircraft crashes

  • Developing recovery plans

  • Learning to conduct accident investigations and aircraft removal

  • Participants will be able to conduct an incident debriefing and after-action report

Day 2

  • Teamwork - Operating during a crisis in a team

  • Emergency Operations Centre Management - Business Operating Cycle

  • Crisis Communications

  • Scribe/Documentation

  • Critical Incident Stress Management

  • Exercise Preparation

 

Day 3

  • Exercise 1 - Group exercise

  • Exercise 2 - Group exercise

  • Exercise 3 - Group exercise

  • Exercise Debriefings - Group debrief


Refund & Cancellation Policy

 

IAAE Canada reserves the right to reschedule any program if the number of registrants is insufficient. In such an event all registrants will be notified and refunded the full registration fee.

  • Any costs incurred by registrants, such as hotel cancellation fees or airline penalties, are the responsibility of
    the registrants.

  • Registrations are transferable.

  • Cancellations will be accepted 30 days prior to the date of the course.

  • No-shows will be responsible for the course fees plus a $50 administration fee.
