ACCREDITATION ACADEMY

The IAAE Canada Accreditation Academy is an immersive, instructor-led program designed for airport professionals pursuing the A.A.E. or A.A.P. designation who want an accelerated path to earning their Certified Member (C.M.) credential.

Over four and a half days, participants work through the Accreditation Body of Knowledge alongside experienced airport professionals, building a deeper understanding of airport management, operations, leadership and the regulatory environment. The Academy combines structured instruction, collaborative learning and dedicated exam preparation in a supportive environment designed to help candidates succeed.

For many participants, the Academy offers more than an opportunity to prepare for the Certified Member examination. It is a chance to step away from the day-to-day, connect with peers from across Canada, learn from experienced mentors and build the confidence to continue their accreditation journey.

The Certified Member (C.M.) examination is completed on site as part of the Academy, allowing participants to leave with an important milestone already behind them and the next phase of their accreditation journey underway.

    If you're enrolling in the Accreditation Program for the first time and wish to attend the Academy, purchase the Accreditation Academy Bundle. The bundle includes both your Accreditation Program Joining Fee and your Academy registration, saving you $200.

      (Includes the $500 Accreditation Program Joining Fee and the $1,900 Accreditation Academy Registration Fee at a discount.)

Learn from an Experienced Airport Leader

Chris Wood is the Airport Director and General Manager of the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF), a role he has held since 2009. During his tenure, he has overseen significant growth, including terminal expansions and long-term master planning to support increasing passenger demand.

With years of experience teaching the IAAE Canada Accreditation Academy and mentoring Phase Three accreditation candidates, Chris brings practical knowledge, firsthand insight and decades of airport leadership experience to every session. His engaging teaching style helps candidates strengthen their understanding of the Accreditation Body of Knowledge while building the confidence to successfully complete the Certified Member (C.M.) examination and continue their accreditation journey.
