Instructor: Chris Wood, BSc., AAE

Chris Wood AAE is the Airport Director at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an honours diploma in Airport Operations and Management from Georgian College. He is an accredited member of the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE Canada), and holds a private pilot's license. Chris has taught various aviation courses at Georgian College, he has held a Board position on the Canadian Airports Council and is the current President of The Airport Management Council of Ontario.

Course Schedule: The course will run from approximately 8am to 5pm each day.

Course Description:
IAAE Canada's  Accreditation Academy is an annual event for A.A.E. and A.A.P candidates.

This week-long course provides an intensive review of the Body of Knowledge modules, and an opportunity to complete the multiple-choice exam at the end of the training. 

Completion of the Accreditation Academy and a successful passing grade of the onsite exam, will result in the Certified Member (C.M) designation.

Goals:
Complete Phase 1 of the accreditation program and achieve the Certified Member designation. During this week-long program, candidates will review the text book and study guide materials with a facilitator and take the exam. The exam is composed of 5 segments: Administration & Finance; Planning, Construction & Environment; Operations & Maintenance; Communications & Marketing; and Safety & Security.
A passing grade requires a minimum 60% in each of the five segments. The exam has a 3 hour time limit.

Pre-requisites:

  • Current member of IAAE Canada
  • Currently enrolled in the accreditation program
  • Meet the prescribed requirements for accreditation

Refund & Cancellation Policy:
IAAEC reserves the right to reschedule any program if the number of registrants is insufficient. In this event, we will notify all registrants and refund the registration fee in full.
• Any costs incurred by registrants, such as hotel cancellation fees or airline penalties, are the responsibility of the  registrants.
• Registrations are transferable.
• Cancellations within 10 days prior to the course date will incur a $100 administration fee.
No-shows will be responsible for the full course fee.
